Steal This Game: Halo Reach

I found this great article at IGN, outlining what makes Halo: Reach so brilliant and how these features could and should be replicated.

From ign.com:

Great artists Steal. Great games should too.

There are plenty of games franchises that could use a helping hand to improve. So we're going to start stealing the best bits from the games we love and figuring out how to insert them into games that would benefit most.

Halo: Reach, Bungie's swan song to the Halo universe, takes what's been done well for the past decade and makes it all even better. There's a lot of great things in Halo: Reach -- things other games need. Hold on to your britches, Halo, you're about to get jacked.

The Xbox 360 Games You Should Buy

For us gamers there is nothing more frustrating than forking out a hard earned £40 or so on an utterly disappointing game. Therefore I thought it purposeful to comprise this list of jaw-dropping blockbusters that I think should supply one with hours of unparalleled entertainment.

So, without further ado, lets get down to
business!

Number 10: Fable 2

This fantastic RPG set in the world of Albion; one of brilliant fantasy, sees your hero progress from but a child to the saviour of the realms from the awful tyranny.

With multiple addons, this game guarantees to keep you entertained for hours.

Number 9: Red Dead Redemption

After the processions of Western movies, it is a dream come true to be able to immerse yourself in the wild west. You can replicate all those moves too. When this is taken with the incredibly detailed open world, this game just oozes fun!

Number 8: Halo Reach

After the huge success of halo 3, halo reach with its all new multiplayer (unlike ODST), had some huge boots to fill, but boy has it done so and more! With brilliantly polished game play each and every game mode: campaign, firefight, multiplayer and forge being as good as each other, Bungie certainly pulled out all the stops with this latest installment.

 Number 7: Modern Warfare 2

My top 10 couldn't possibly be complete without call of duty. Modern Warfare 2 had ludicrous amounts of expectation heaped upon it being the sequel to the best selling first-person shooter of all time, but it had every reason to. With the all new special ops accompanying the campaign and multiplayer, the latter being a very successful formula from previous games, I guess the expectation is to see this on the list too!

 Number 6: Fallout 3

Set in the post-apocalyptic wastes of Washington D.C, Fallout 3 is unlike it's predecessors in the series and is far more than Oblivion with guns. The vast amounts of exploration to be done are a notable feature of brilliance, with bloody combat gruesome enemies.

Number 5: Assassins Creed: Brotherhood

Another title with great expectation. However, set in Rome, the campaign and its stunning cut-scenes, voice and also music are the main reasons you wont be able to put this sequel down. Ezio is now an assassin leader opposed to just an operative meaning gangs of assassins are at your disposal, one of the many features of this great game.

Number 4: Gears of War 2

"Bigger, better, and more badass" are the words of lead designer Cliff Bleszinski, and I couldn't have said it better myself. The improved multiplayer and epic campaign mean it has soared up my rankings and with Gears of War 3 coming soon it isn't too late to join in, you will not be disappointed!

Number 3: Bioshock

I'm sure that many people will agree that this game is a must have for any xbox 360 owner. Bioshock doesn't fail to deliver in any aspect of its campaign, it is polished to perfection. Not having a multiplayer plays to it's advantage on the basis of Bioshock 2, and I believe this is the better game and you can really feel the undiverted efforts in the campaign.

Number 2: Mass Effect 2

Much unlike the previous game on the list, Mass Effect 2 is far better than the original. With a whole galaxy to explore, it is not hard to see why this won the 2010 game of the year award at the Golden Joysticks. This game is a sci-fi lovers dream with a huge depth of interaction, making this one of the true greats.

Number 1: Call of Duty: Black Ops

And so we have it. Number 1. Set in the cold war era with precise facts mingling within the story, it truly is brilliant. The action is breathtaking as the action seamlessly changes about the globe from Cuba to Vietnam. Zombies returns after it was very much proven in CoD World at War, and is every bit as good and more. And of course it has the unparalleled multiplayer experience we have come to expect from the franchise, with 14 maps, without the addons! One has to wonder if first-person shooters can get any better?
